Peer Review Process
World Halal Review (WHR) applies a rigorous double-blind peer review system to ensure academic integrity, impartiality, and high scholarly standards. The identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the evaluation process.
| Stage | Process Description | Estimated Time |
|---|---|---|
| Initial Editorial Screening | The Editorial Office evaluates manuscript relevance, scope alignment, formatting compliance, and plagiarism screening results prior to peer review. | 1–2 Weeks |
| Reviewer Assignment | The manuscript is assigned to at least two independent reviewers with recognized expertise in the relevant discipline. | 1 Week |
| Double-Blind Peer Review | Reviewers assess originality, methodological rigor, analytical depth, theoretical contribution, and relevance to halal studies. Recommendations include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection. | 4–6 Weeks |
| Author Revision | Authors submit a revised manuscript together with a detailed response to reviewers’ comments. The revised version may be returned to reviewers for further evaluation. | 2–4 Weeks |
| Final Editorial Decision | The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision based on reviewers’ reports and editorial assessment of the manuscript’s scholarly contribution. | 8–12 Weeks (Total) |
WHR ensures confidentiality throughout the review process and requires reviewers to declare any potential conflicts of interest. All submissions undergo plagiarism screening prior to peer review.
Editorial Decision Policy: All decisions made by the Editor-in-Chief are final and binding. The journal does not entertain appeals regarding publication decisions except in cases of demonstrated procedural error or ethical misconduct during the review process.
